Martyn and Louise would like to welcome you to our B&B where we hope to offer a relaxing and enjoyable stay in the Heart of Royal Deeside located within the Cairngorms National Park in The Highlands of Scotland.

Bridge of Gairn is a small hamlet just a mile from the picturesque and well known village of Ballater. Craggan is situated in a quiet location with fabulous views of the surrounding countryside with the towering hills of The Coyles of Muick, Cairn Leuchan and Clachan Yellto the front, rocky crags and a pine forest to the East and the towering splendour of the mountain of Lochnagar to the West.

This former Scottish Manse was built in 1870 by the Keiller family, the original manufacturer of the world famous Dundee Marmalade. The house retains many of its original features including the dumb waiter.

Ballater has long been a centre for tourism in the Highlands.

In the early 14^th century Ballater was part of the estates of St. John but the settlement didn’t begin to develop properly until around 1770 first as a spa resort and then a centre for tourism. Presently many of the buildings date from the Victorian era and the village centre is currently a conservation area.

Ballater is now a busy and bustling community with a variety of shops, cafes, bars, restaurants and Arts & Crafts galleries that welcomes tourists from around the world all the year round.
